Wednesday Wanderlust ~ Ireland

If you have been following along on my travails of this summer, then, of course, you already know about the saga of my broken arm. When they told me an 8-10 week recovery period, in my mind, that meant I would be back to normal afterwards - how incredibly naive of me! Tomorrow is the two month anniversary of my accident...here is the latest - I am still wearing the brace, but now I can take it off for a few hours a day (hallelujah for full showers!), my pain level is much better as long as I don't move the wrong way and I am doing physical therapy two times a week. Here is what I CAN'T do yet: drive, dry/style my own hair, cut my own food, type with two hands, dress myself in clothes that go over my head or do anything that requires any strength from my left arm. In other words...I still have a way to go!

Okay, so you may be wondering what my broken arm has to do with Ireland...I am supposed to be leaving in three weeks for a whirlwind trip to Ireland. The trip is sponsored by Tourism Ireland for a select group of travel advisors from all over the US - the idea is to showcase the "Best of Ireland" over the course of our week long trip. At this point, I am very much on the fence as to whether I can go since I will not have my trusty "left hand man" (aka my hero of a husband) along for the trip to cut my meat or put my hair in a ponytail. So, today I am dreaming of the Emerald Isle in all its fall glory...

I will probably wait until the very last minute to decide. Hopefully, I will be sharing my own photos like the ones above soon. In the meantime, cross your fingers for me for a rapid improvement in the couple of weeks ahead!
