Perfect Summer Escapes ~ The Outer Banks of North Carolina
When I close my eyes and think of summer, there is one place that will also come into my mind first...the Outer Banks of North Carolina. There is a casual, laid back vibe on the Outer Banks that makes it the perfect place to escape in the summer.

My
favorite place in the Outer Banks is Corolla, a small village at the northern end of
the chain of barrier islands that makes up what is affectionately known as "OBX". Corolla has gorgeous wide, dune swept beaches, but is
narrow enough in places that you can watch the sun rise over the ocean
and set over the sound from the same house.
I have spent many a day from sun up to sun down lounging on these beaches...

Keep your eyes open to look for the wild horses that roam the beaches...
Most people rent vacation homes like these...
...but the Sanderling Resort is also an excellent choice for shorter stays.

So, kick off your shoes, grab your beach chair and surfboard and soak up the sun in OBX this year! I can't imagine any place I would rather be!
