On My Radar Screen

Happy Friday!  It seems like this is the time of year when everyone is on vacation. This August I am not doing much traveling - I am saving all my wandering for September and October when I will be away more than I will be home.  Now that I am an "empty nester", I can avoid the summer crowds, but it still doesn't make me any less envious of all of you who are traveling around Europe or relaxing on the beach right now!
I guess I will just fantasize that I am spending my weekend in this glorious setting on
Lake Como...

Here are a few more interesting items from the world of travel that hit up on my radar screen this week:

Twenty charming shop fronts around the world from Messy Ness Chic (a great site if you love travel along with a little irreverence).  Plus one more that I love...

I really enjoyed this photo essay of a first timer's view of Nantucket from Fathom, another excellent travel site.

Would you go tree camping? Definitely NOT me...

And, finally, my weekend book recommendation is The Silent Wife by A.S.A. Harrison.  I could NOT put this book down (h/t to Katie from The Preppy Empty Nester for recommending it to ME). Reminiscent of Gone Girl, it is definitely a page turner.

That's a wrap for this week...have a marvelous weekend, wherever you may be wandering!
