Here are some of the top places to view July 4th fireworks around the nation...

Washington, DC - What better place to celebrate July 4th than along the mall in the Nation's Capital. Begin your day early with the parade down Constitution Avenue and then enjoy The Smithsonian Folklife Festival. The festivities continue on the Capitol’s West Lawn with a free, 90-minute concert featuring the National Symphony Orchestra and Barry Manilow, followed by fireworks from the reflecting pool.  Go here for more details.

New York City - The Macy's Fourth of July Fireworks is the largest display in the nation. Fireworks are set off from four barges in the Hudson River. This year will include some unique displays including jellyfish, butterflies and smiling faces, as well as synchronized music curated by Usher.

Boston - The 40th anniversary of the Boston Pops July 4th Fireworks Spectacular features a concert followed by fireworks in the Charles River. For more information, go here.

Philadelphia - Celebrate America's birthday in America's birthplace with a parade,  the "tapping" of the Liberty Bell, a concert featuring John Mayer and The Roots, and a fireworks extravaganza. Stay for the weekend to enjoy Taste of Philadelphia.  Go here for more information.
 
St. Louis -  After taking in the 136th Veiled Prophet parade, stake your claim on a rooftop or in one of the grassy parks downtown to watch the fireworks over the St. Louis Gateway Arch. For more information, go here.

Houston - The country's largest land based show is in Houston where Freedom Over Texas kicks off with a concert featuring Sheryl Crow and Martina McBride followed by spectacular fireworks.
