Home Away From Home...Schooling!

Are your children starting off the school year remotely? If so, my guess is that after nearly six months of staying at home, you are not really looking forward to the start of the school year, filled with more time at home overseeing children with their virtual school work. Even though I no longer have school age children, I definitely feel your pain!

Guess what? I have great news for you! I am currently working on a variety of ideas of "home away from home" schooling for families who are looking for a change of scenery for a week or even longer!

There are silver linings to remote learning - you can do it from anywhere and you can set your own schedule! I am a firm believer that hands on experiences in new destinations are the best possible education. What better way to enhance your children’s education than by having them experience a new culture or historic destination!

One of my favorite boutique hotels in Mexico is offering a package that includes a complimentary school coordinator who will work with your children up to six hours per day - they will help your children connect online with their teachers and supervise their school routine. I have a feeling this is a trend we will see many hotels following as we move into the fall.

From Mexico and the Caribbean, to sailing charters in New England, to the National Parks, and even longer stays in the UK and Ireland (after a quarantine period), there are so many options for families wanting to explore and learn about the local cultures. Part of my services during these unprecedented times includes advising you on which destinations are open and the necessary requirements for visiting them.

How can I help your family plan an educational AND relaxing vacation this fall?

xoxo
